Plus
Portable electric scooter

Plus is a lightweight personal electric vehicle designed for urban mobility, last-mile transit, and fleet applications. The design features a novel fold-flat hinge, suspended wooden deck, carry handle, and customizable front plate.

I worked on the industrial design of the scooter as a whole and the mechanical design of several components.

Role: Industrial design
Made at Tomorrow Lab

Plus was designed around a unique folding interaction, with two pivot points that allow the stem to fold flat against the deck

The stem and fork are made from parallel tubes, which create a gap for the rear wheel to nest in when folded and frame a distinctive front panel

In addition to design sketches and renderings, I built functional CAD for the headlight assembly, interface, fork/headset, carry handle, and plywood deck.

I used rendering software to simulate how different lens shapes would affect the beam pattern and throw of the headlamp

The design was refined by a scooter OEM and is currently in pilot manufacturing
