Hivecell Rugged
Scalable edge computing for challenging environments

Hivecell Rugged is the second generation of Ricker Lyman Robotics’ Hivecell computer, a stackable desktop module that can be daisy-chained to create scalable and modular “edge computing” servers.

Hivecell Rugged is specifically designed for use in harsh and remote environments like jungles, deserts, ships at sea, and factory floors. It includes new features like water resistance, shock absorption, and temperature stability to meet the demands of harsh climates.

The hexagon shape was developed based on feature requirements like mounting, ventilation, and positioning of the interface, antennas, and connectors.

The styling combines elements of Hivecell’s existing brand language with a new rugged look to convey the durable nature of the product.
